The roof is one of the most important parts of your house and will need to be replaced eventually. If you don’t know what to look for, here are five signs it’s time for you to replace your roof.

High Energy Bills

Are your energy bills suddenly much higher than previously? This might be a sign that your roof has stopped doing its job. Poor ventilation or insulation could cause your home’s heating and cooling to work harder, resulting in higher bills.

Replacing your roof will help fix this problem and save you money in the long run, no matter the cost of metal roofing.

Visible Damage

It might be pretty easy to realize you need to replace your roof. If your shingles are curling or missing, or if you notice light coming through gaps in your roof, it’s definitely time to replace what you have.

If you notice that your roof is starting to grow foliage, like moss, that’s a sign that it’s time to replace it. Moss, mold, and fungi grow in moisture, so plant growth might be an indication that your roof is leaking.

You can remove moss from your roof, but you’ll also need to check to make sure you have address the moisture issue.
