How to Properly Maintain Hardwood Floors

Do you have hardwood floors? Worried about damaging them but want them to actually feel clean...for once? Well, we have all the tips and tricks to help you make the most of your beautiful hardwood floors.

Sweep Daily

The first step to keeping your hardwood floors clean is to sweep daily. This eliminates the buildup of dirt that can scratch your floors and lead to deeper imperfections over time.

Vacuum Once A Week

Even if you're sweeping every day, there is still a need to vacuum at least once per week. This ensures that you get rid of any deep down buildup. If needed, you can try a robot vacuum for hardwood floors to make this chore something you don't even have to think about.

Do NOT Use a Wet Mop

If you feel the need to mop your hardwood floors, ONLY use a dry mop. Wet mops can cause irreversible damage, such as warping, to your hardwood.

Refinish Every 10 Years

To avoid the high costs associated with replacing your flooring, opt to resurface your hardwood floors once every 10 years.

If this is done correctly, you can expect your wood floors to last up to 50 years.
