Materials Needed
  • Hot water
  • Bucket
  • Dry mop
  • Spray bottle
  • Clean cloths
  • Rubber gloves
  • Broom
Step #1

With a broom, sweep the floor properly till there is no dirt or debris remaining. This way, while you are mopping with the cleaner, nothing gets stuck to the mop and scratch the surface.
Step #2
Take the bucket and make a batch of cleaner from any of the recipes mentioned above. Pour the liquid into a spray bottle. Make sure that the water you use is really hot, and hence, you will have to wear rubber gloves.
Step #3
Spray the cleaner all over the floor, making sure every inch has been covered with it. Once the bottle is empty, fill it back up with some more from the bucket and finish spraying.
Step #4
Now the dry mop needs to be used to clean the floor. Work your way from the inside, near the walls and then slowly track your steps out. Go in a clockwise manner and get the cleaner in every crack and corner.
Step #5
Once the mopping is finished, let the cleaner seep into the floor. After a while, buff the floors with clean cloths. This technique will make the floors shine like new. You can also place the cloths on the floor and use a dry mop for buffing, if you don't wish to use your hands.
Make sure you use the correct ingredients mentioned above and not make any substitutions. A cleaner needs to be appropriate amount to work on the surface so that it won't take the shine off, instead of adding it.
