DIY projects are an excellent way to save money and develop new skills, but they may seem overwhelming for beginners. Luckily, there are numerous simple DIY projects even beginners can tackle!
Replacement of a torn window screen can be completed even by novice DIYers with ease.
1. Loom Bracelet
Start this beginner project off right by gathering only minimal supplies – such as a loom, rubber bands in different colors and a plastic C-clip or S-clip holder.
Single Chain: Start at the bottom of your loom by moving one “B”-colored band up to the center pin directly above your cap band and loop it onto another peg over, repeating this pattern until reaching the top of the loom.
This design is one of the most beloved on Rainbow Loom and easy to create! Wear it as a bracelet or use it to decorate an accessory – learn how here. Additionally, this technique can also be used to craft beaded flower charms and even an octopus design!
2. Rustic Coasters
DIY home projects can make an incredible difference in any room. While learning to drywall or repave your patio may require more time and money than you are willing to invest, there are still numerous easy upgrades you can complete yourself that will add curb appeal without needing professional assistance.
Woodworking projects for beginners should always include creating decorative wooden signs, whether for bedroom wall decoration, the front door entryway decoration, or to showcase one’s creativity and home decor. A decorative wooden sign makes an excellent project! Hang it anywhere to show your artistic talent and home decor flair!
Are you in search of an easy DIY home project that will add color and character to your living space? Rustic coasters will certainly add charm and help to give the table that much-needed touch!
3. Mason Jar Oil Lamp
This mason jar project is an elegant way to add light and fragrance into your home, perfect for romantic evenings or dinner dates with someone special. Additionally, they make great presents!
To create a mason jar oil lamp, all that’s required is a mason jar and vegetable oil. Large, wide mouth jars will allow you to fit all of the decorative items you plan on including in your lamp.
Drill a small hole into the lid of your mason jar; just enough to allow the wick to fit through it.
Fill the jar two-thirds to three-fourths full of olive oil, and then add several drops of your favorite scent – we used paraffin lamp oil here, but you could also opt for canola cooking oil with its signature aroma!
4. Photo Booth Props
Photo booth props can add an exciting and creative element to any photo. Available at party stores and online, but also easy to make yourself at home, photo booth props make for fun additions that add some flare.
Customize photo booth props to your event theme by making them yourself! For example, if your party features a Wild West motif, consider setting the scene by creating the front of a saloon and including some large “fat head” cowboy hats and funny mustaches as props for photos.
Instagram frame cutouts have quickly become a favorite party decoration, allowing guests to sign their photos with custom hashtags. Speech bubbles and emojis also prove highly entertaining; large wigs and masks add extra character and dimension when planning parties with an unusual or humorous theme.
5. Prism Mason Jar Candle
Candles are an easy and useful DIY project for beginners. Once finished crafting a funfetti mason jar candle, you’ll relish its sweet scent while feeling proud that you managed such an undertaking as an amateur!
Use glass paint that’s intended for candles to add the glass elements to a mason jar. Do this step one area at a time, and allow each portion of your mason jar to dry fully before continuing on with more work on its interior surfaces.
